NEW DELHI: Indian cricket team was swamped with congratulatory messages on twitter for their convincing six-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan in an ICC World Twenty20 match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata with batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar leading the charge by thanking Virat Kohli for his match-winning knock.

Kohli was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of quality of batsmanship as he played a special knock of unbeaten 55 runs off just 37 balls on a difficult Eden pitch to guide India home.

Soon after reaching his fifty, Kohli took a bow for Tendulkar, who was present at the stands and the batting stalwart was floored by the gesture.

"Great Win Team India!! Thank you for the innings and gesture Virat Kohli! Team India returning to the dressing room after the game, waved to me. Felt like I never left the team...," Tendulkar wrote on his twitter handle.

Yuvraj Singh, with whom Kohli added 61 runs for the fourth wicket to stabilise India's chase yesterday after the hosts were reeling at 23 for three, lauded Kohli and the bowling department's performance.
"Well done boys ????????!@imVkohli super knock under pressure great resistance by the bowling unit keep going guys," Yuvraj tweeted.
